No parent wants to outlive her child. There are enough uncertainties and dangers in the world that can cause a parent to worry. When someone is negligent and adds to the dangers that a child might face, a parent has the right to get mad. She has the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit when carelessness takes the life of her child.
Pennsylvania residents probably remember a deadly helicoptor crash that occurred in the state last month. Five people died because of the helicoptor accident, and now at least one family member who was impacted by the loss is opting to move forward with legal action against those whose negligence she believes took her child and his father.
According to the Associated Press, the wrongful death lawsuit alleges that the pilot who was flying the helicopter when it crashed was not adequately licensed or prepared to be flying. The mother of the deceased 3-year-old is suing the company responsible for the aircraft for negligently allowing an untrained, inexperienced pilot to transport passengers.
Reports don’t share the company’s statements regarding the training of the pilot, just that it believes the accident resulted from flying in stormy weather conditions. The plaintiff is pushing for answers with her lawsuit, however, as well as for monetary damages of at least $550,000.
The loss of a loved one is an emotional experience. Suing following an accident isn’t going to heal any wounds or bring someone back, but for some, it can be a courageous step forward into the next chapter of their lives and a way to prevent a similar accident in the future.
