In some cases, a motor vehicle accident can actually cause secondary accidents to occur. Pieces of the vehicle can scatter upon impact and hit other vehicles on the road. Especially for motorcycles, pieces of sharp, flying debris can cause loss of control of the bike and result in a crash.
This occurred late last week when a Pennsylvania man initially lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a pole on the side of the road. The man was killed in the crash. But the debris from the fatal motorcycle accident landed in the road and became a hazard for others.
Two individuals were also traveling the same stretch of road on a motorcycle when the crash occurred in front of them. Their motorcycle ran over the debris from the first accident and crashed. The two were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated for injuries and appear to be in fair condition.
The article does not given any indication whether Pennsylvania State Police know what caused the man’s motorcycle to go off the road in the first place.
In the wake of a fatal accident, there are a number of issues that can arise. Injuries that resulted from the crash can lead to unexpected and high medical bills. There may also be serious damage to a vehicle or motorcycle; repairs can be costly.
Accident victims can seek compensation for their injuries. It is helpful to speak with someone who understands what options are available. If the accident was caused by the negligence of another, having someone to advocate on your behalf can make seeking compensation less stressful.
