Accidents can happen in a split second and leave behind broken bones and broken families. Though there is no way to predict when an accident will happen, there are many ways to prevent sustaining serious injuries as a result of an accident.
For people who drive cars, there are a number of safety precautions one can take to avoid serious injury in the event of a car accident. One important precaution is remembering to wear a seatbelt. In Pennsylvania, a car crash in Butler Township between two women left one with minor injuries and one with serious injuries. The one with serious injuries had not been wearing her seatbelt.
The accident occurred on Route 234 in the late afternoon. A woman driving a pickup truck was attempting to turn left, failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and was subsequently hit by a woman driving a sports car. The driver of the sports car was airlifted to the hospital where she remains in an unknown condition.
The police discovered that the driver of the pickup truck had been wearing her seatbelt, but the driver of the sports car had not.
For both women involved, there are some issues that they may face. First, both may have a legal right to compensation for damage they incurred. There is the damage to the cars, hospital and medical bills, and post-injury therapy that will have to be paid for. Because of her serious injuries, the driver of the sports car may also lose wages during her recovery period.
Car accidents can cause stress and frustration for those involved. For both women, the process of recovering from the car accident has just begun.
