Many People have called and inquired as to why we have done this. We did so because Allstate, since 1995, has been engaged in a program which they call the "Allstate Quality Customer Service Program." The goal of this program is to befriend persons who are injured by Allstate insureds and have the Allstate adjuster substitute its advice for that of an attorney.
There is a training manual that has been issued to adjusters teaching them how to implement this program. As part of the program, adjusters are instructed to contact the accident victim within a day or two after the collision and establish a rapport. Once a rapport is established, the injured victim is then sent a cover letter assuring them that they will receive quality customer service. The letter also requests medical records, wage records and encloses authorizations to obtain same. The injured victim is then sent another letter which will contain one or both of the following documents. First, a document entitled "Quality Service Pledge", wherein Allstate promises to answer all of the person's questions, keep them fully informed during the claim settlement process and further advising that they will make a fair settlement offer if that person is entitled to same. The second form is a form entitled, "Do I Need An Attorney?" which sets forth five questions and answers; all designed to discourage the individual from hiring an attorney.
Allstate's own data indicates that they pay more in typical accident cases to persons who have an attorney than persons who do not.If you or anyone you know has been involved in an accident which has been caused by an Allstate policy holder, I would strongly urge you to have that person contact me at the office. I will be available to explain the process to them and advise them as to their legal rights.
